Harrison County is a new full service replacement hospital located in Corydon, Indiana. An approximately 140,000 square foot full replacement hospital replaced the old facility in early 2008. The new hospital consists of surgical suites, diagnostic imaging, full lab services, as well as dining facilities. The facility has 34 medical surgical beds, 4 ICU beds and 6 labor and delivery rooms.

The mechanical design was based on six variable air volume air-handling units. Enhanced HEPA filtration is included for the units serving surgery, LDR, lab and ER. A remote power house contains the central mechanical systems. The cooling system consists of (2) 400 ton water cooled chillers with an outdoor cooling tower. The chilled water pumping system is a primary variable flow system. The heating system consists of (2) 300 HP steam boilers connected with heating hot water and domestic water heat exchangers. An above ground 12,000 gallon fuel oil storage tank is provided.

The electrical service to the facility is a 3000A, 480 volt normal power service distributed to panels and transformers throughout the facility. One 1000 KW generator was provided for emergency distribution with bypass isolation transfer switches. Other systems such as medical gas, nurse call, physiological monitoring, fetal monitoring, data/voice, etc. were designed throughout the facility. Another feature implemented in this facility was a fully integrated nurse call, data/voice and fire alarm. This provided more complete reports, case management of systems and increase flexibility for patient care.
