The LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and ENERGY STAR® certification programs carry exacting, highly specific requirements, and the professional engineers at CMTA Consulting Engineers have extensive experience at achieving both for our clients.
LEED® building certification, which occurs through the U.S. Green Building Council, looks beyond measures of energy use to consider a building’s impact upon people, the planet, and profits. This so-called “triple bottom line” emphasis examines quantifiable economic, environmental, and social factors throughout the entire building process.
The ENERGY STAR® standards for commercial buildings include strategic energy management that helps the owners’ bottom line while sustaining the environment. The program creates practical benchmarks and provides ongoing measures of performance.
Beyond the environmental benefits, both programs, whether pursued separately or in conjunction, have a significant, positive impact on a building’s costs of operation.
