Creating sports facilities that set new records for efficiency and low operating costs

The sheer size and nature of facilities for sporting events and training creates significant challenges where energy is concerned. The immense volume of conditioned space and the ever-changing levels of activity and occupancy confront facility owners with unique situations.

The sustainable engineers on the CMTA Consulting Engineers team have designed sports facilities that achieve the owners’ goals, whether the objective is environmental stewardship, lower energy costs, a comfortable environment for participants and spectators, or a combination of all of these.

Our LEED® Accredited Professionals combine a variety of sustainable strategies that frequently include:

  • Stormwater management and reuse
  • High-efficiency lighting
  • Geothermal HVAC systems
  • Reduced water consumption
  • Renewable energy programs

Our newest LEED sports facility, the Mark and Cindy Lynn Soccer Stadium opened in August 2014.  Click here to see a video about the dedication.  For a list of recent athletics’ projects, click here.
